Computer Applications

Microsoft Excel

Introduction: Learn the basic concepts for designing and creating spreadsheets. Focus will include entering different data types, simple formulas, formatting cells, and more.

Formulas/Functions
Learn the basic structure of entering formulas and functions. Learn to use the Function Wizard - what it is and how to use it. Finally, compare Relative vs. Absolute values.

Merging W/ Word: Learn how to setup Excel worksheets so that they can easily merge with Word. Use Word to create form letters, labels, or even envelops.

Simple Graphs: Need to make a quick, simple graph? If so, then come learn how to create graphs in seconds using existing Excel data.

Pivot Tables:Want to quickly summarize large amounts of data. Come learn how to use Excel’s Pivot Table Wizard. A PivotTable report allows you to rotate its rows and columns to see different summaries of the source data, filter the data by displaying different pages, or display the details for areas of interest.

Creating Graphs: Need to make a quick, simple graph? If so, then come learn how to create graphs in seconds using existing Excel data.

Naming Data Arrays and Other Advanced Features in Excel: Would you like to access data from tables that exist on other sheets or via formulas that require you to name a dataset? If so, this workshop can help. Come learn how to name data arrays so that you can easily access them when using advanced functions like VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and more.

Microsoft Word

Introduction: Learn the basic concepts for creating word documents. Focus will include basic navigation, creating, editing, and printing documents, cut, copy, paste, text alignment, spell checking, and more.

Tables: Learn how tables can make text alignment and other formatting options within Word easier and better looking.

Forms: Learn to create fill-in-the-blank forms in Word and when to use them and when not to use them.

Templates: Do you use the same document over and over again? If so, then come learn how to create helpful templates in word that allow you to save the formatting and structure of a document.

Adding Drawing Objects and Graphics to Documents: This workshop will teach participants how to add objects such as circles, squares, arrows, and other fun graphics to their existing Word documents.

Creating and Using Master Documents and Subdocuments: A master document is a document that contains a set of related documents. Use a master document to organize and maintain a long document by dividing it into smaller, more manageable subdocuments. For example, use a master document to organize chapters of a book. In a workgroup, store a master document on a network to share ownership of a document by dividing it into individual subdocuments that can be worked on simultaneously by different users. Microsoft PowerPoint

Introduction:This powerful Microsoft program enables the user to prepare and design a professional looking presentation with ease. Create and develop a presentation in PowerPoint and learn to manage and organize the presentation's slides. Become familiar with PowerPoint's screen elements, work with the toolbars and menu commands, switch among all the views, work with the formatting features of bullets and numbering, fonts, paragraph spacing, clipart, etc. Slide transitions and bulleted text animation will be integrated into the presentation. Pre-requisite: Must know how to type and be familiar with the mouse, and have completed Intro to PC and Windows, or have equivalent knowledge.

Adding Graphics and Additional Items: Come learn how to add, edit, and delete graphics, sounds and other objects to your PowerPoint presentations. We will also learn how to add tables and organization charts as well.

Microsoft Windwos

Introduction to Application Visual Basic: Want to learn how to program your own macros using visual basic? If so, then come join us for an introduction course to the basics of Visual Basic. This workshop will focus on programming simple macros, macro structure, and troubleshooting techniques.

Shortcut Keys: Come join us learn about how to get around in Windows and Microsoft Office products without using the mouse. This workshop will focus on shortcut keys and other helpful hints that allow users to navigate and work more efficiently.
Internet Browsing

Introduction: Want to learn how to find things faster on the Internet? Come learn the secrets to better, more effective web searches. This class will also focus on the basic tools and functions of most Internet browsers such Microsoft Internet Explorer, FireFox, and Safari.
